Government
Agencies
When searching for
information for starting an export business, you can
find everything you can find official government information at Austrade. This is the Australian government's
export business and trade website located at
www.austrade.gov.au
Austrade offers
export traders information on legal and government
policies and regulations, shows exporters detailed
information on trade market stats between Australia
and any other country on the globe, and even tells
you details about foreign countries in case you plan
to visit them, such as their holidays, best times to
travel, and currency converters. The organization
also provides exporters with ways to locate and
apply for assistance from the government, like the
Export Market Development Grant, or EMDG.
Each Australian
state also provides similar information through
their respective Chamber of Commerce. Here are the
web links for each one:
-
Queensland
-
New South Wales
-
Victoria
-
Tasmania
-
Northern
Territories
-
Western
Australia
When exporting
from the United States, China or Europe, there are
also resources there that can provide you with
export information, assistance and tools. In the
United States, there is Export.gov, which provides a
membership for monthly events, and tools such as
NAFTA applications. In China, there is the Ministry
of Commerce website
http://www.mofcom.gov.cn/ and European exporters
can visit the European Commission website at
http://ec.europa.eu/trade/whatwedo/index_en.htm.
When looking to
export for the first time, or expanding your current
business, make sure to include the assistance your
government may provide for information, financing,
and trade regulations. This information is a vital
key to your success.
